I once rejected 10million naira for a movie role- Chinwetalu Agu reveals

Legendary Nollywood actor, Chinwetalu Agu has recounted how he refused an offer of N10 million from billionaire business mogul, Mike Adenuga, to play a role in a movie.

When the billionaire businessman made the offer, the famous Nollywood actor had not seen N1 million before but he insisted on recieving nothing less than N20 million.

The famous star said Adenuga later compromised and gave him the N20 million after he threatened to walk away

The legendary Nollywood actor revealed this in a conversation with well-known media figure Chude Jideonwo.

He recalled that “Chief Mike Adenuga said, ‘What I have for you in this contract is N10 million.'” When he offered to pay me N10 million, I refused because I had never seen N1 million before. If that’s not N20 million, forget it, I told him.

“He and I both urged. I then pretended to stand up and pleaded for money to return to Enugu. Please reserve me a seat on the next flight out so I can return quietly.

“When I stood up, they perceived me to be serious now. Sit down, Chief Mike Adenuga requested. He instructed them to bring paperwork to sign. Then I signed what they brought.

“Uhuru dance began at that precise moment. In the workplace, I handled it delicately. I didn’t want them to realize how significant N20m was to me. But at the time, it was the most fantastic thing.
