Why I created the afro fusion genre- Burna boy opens up

Burna Boy, a Grammy-winning singer from Nigeria, claims that he invented the afro-fusion musical subgenre because he didn’t want to be limited to the well-known Afrobeats subgenre.

The self-described “African Giant” claimed he does not believe in genres in an interview with American media source Complex.

“Afrofusion is a big melting pot of cultures and sounds,” stated Burna Boy. There is no box for afrofusion.

Let me explain. I created afro-fusion because I didn’t want to be restricted to any type of afrobeat, hip-hop, or anything else. since I do not believe in genres. I was forced to make my own.
