The real winner of the February presidential election will emerge September 16th

The well-known Nigerian entertainer Charles Oputa, better known by his stage as Charly Boy, asserts that the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal has set September 16th as the deadline for ruling on the petitions contesting President Bola Tinubu’s election.

Though we cannot tell the specific date, but the Constitution gives the Tribunal until September 16, 2023 (maximum 180 days after petitions are filed) to rule on the petitions.

Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Atiku Abubakar who contested for the presidential seat in the February 25 election, had applications filed seeking the Tribunal to dismiss Tinubu over a number of charges.

Charly Boy took to X (formerly Twitter) to advise Obi’s supporters, or Obidients, to prepare for the verdict.

The post’s subject line is “OBIDIENTS ARE U Ready? Peter Obi and the Labour Party’s petition against Bola Tinubu, INEC, Shettima, and the APC, as well as Atiku’s case against the APC, INEC, and Tinubu in the PDP, have been scheduled for judgment on September 16, 2023, according to the Presidency Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT).
