Verdict set to be delivered Sept 6th for the Presidential Election Petition

After two weeks of rumors, the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) has officially announced that the three petitions contesting the proclamation of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the winner of the 2023 presidential election will be decided on Wednesday, September 6.

Umar Mohammed Bangari, the Chief Registrar of the Court of Appeal, confirmed the date to wakenews on Monday.

According to Bangari, whose court is hosting the Tribunal, everything has been put in order to enable a smooth delivery of the judgment in the three cases.

They are those submitted by Abubakar Atiku, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) candidate, and the Allied Peoples Movement’s (APC) candidate.

In order to prevent crowding and security lapses, Bangari intimated that sufficient protection had been put in place and that only invited members of political parties and the general public would be permitted entry into the courtroom.
