On the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart, Burna Boy breaks a new African record

Burna Boy, a Grammy-winning singer from Nigeria, is the first African to have two songs debut on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the same calendar year.

After his song,”Sittin’ On Top Of The World” Bubbled Under the Hot 100 chart, it eventually debuted at No. 80 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 list.

Burna Boy’s seventh studio album, ‘I Told Them,’ which increased the sales and streaming of the lead track, ‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World,’ helped the song enter the main chart.

On this week’s Hot 100, @burnaboy’s “Sittin’ On Top Of The World” premieres at No. 80, according to a statement made by Billboard on its X page on Tuesday.

Burna Boy and Byron Messia’s song “Talibans II” made its debut on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in July of this year, according to sources.

‘I Told Them,’ Burna Boy’s seventh studio album, debuted at No. 31 on the US Billboard 200 albums list.
