Iyabo Ojo declares protest over Mohbad’s passing

Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has called for a protest in Lagos State over the death of late Nigerian singer, Mohbad.

On Monday, Iyabo made the disclosure during an Instagram live session.

Prior to the event on Tuesday or Wednesday, she stated that her non-profit organization, Pinkies Foundation, would send a letter to the state government on Monday.

She stated, “Governor Sanwo Olu. I’m calling on other entertainers in the industry to attend the rally. Please utilize your good offices, sir. You must make sure that all of these investigations are conducted. An audio investigation is not what we want. When he was alive, we failed. He had to pay the ultimate price for this one.

“Parents are the revolution’s force behind the scenes. There must be an autopsy. He was very agitated when I first met him. He was really afraid.

“My attorney will send you a letter. I will write to each of you in turn on behalf of my foundation. An announcement will be made by my foundation. On Monday, we will mail the letter to all reputable offices. We are also forwarding it to international organizations. On Tuesday or Wednesday, we’ll visit your office. so that you would recognize the necessity for justice. We’re going to hold a nonviolent protest.

According to the sources, Mohbad, an ex-Marlian Music Record signee, passed away on Tuesday of last week at the age of 27. He was buried on Wednesday.

On the internet, debates concerning his death’s circumstances are still going strong.

When the singer was still alive, he frequently claimed that Naira Marley’s record label, the Marlian, had threatened to kill him.

Following the online evidence and videos, the Lagos State Police Command said in a statement posted on its verified social media account on Saturday that “a full-scale criminal investigation into the case has been ordered in response to the growing public concerns and the preliminary police review of the circumstances surrounding the death of Mohbad.”

On Friday, Nigerians also started signing a petition that would ban Marlian Music, the late singer’s former record label.

At the time of this publication, the petition posted on change.org had more than 250,000 signatories.
