People have been threating to Kill me- Daddy Showkey

Veteran Nigerian musician John Odafe Asiemo, popularly identified as Daddy Showkey, has disclosed that he has been receiving death threats as a result of his remarks over the passing of rapper Mohbad, who passed away on September 12, 2023, in a contentious manner.

In an interview with media personality Daddy Freeze, Daddy Showkey said that there was more to the rapper’s death and pointed musicians in the direction of several influential figures in the music business and in society.

Returning to Daddy Freeze’s Instagram live session on Monday night, Showkey claimed that since making his previous remark on Mohbad’s fate, he has been receiving threats from officials in the government.

Do you know that I got a lot of death threats following our previous interview, Daddy Freeze? Do you know that following that interview, even officials in the government began to threaten me?

“I suggested that they watch your interview. Did I say anything improperly? And I’m telling the truth when I speak. You cannot imagine what I endured. I didn’t get any rest that night. All they did was threaten me.

“Daddy Freeze, I have no idea how you must be feeling with all of these things you are doing. Because of the threats they made against me, I came to ask, “What about you?”
