My favourite African musicians are Tyler and Asake- Tems discloses

Grammy-winning singer Temilade Openiyi, better known by her stage as Tems, has named Asake, and a equally talented South African singer, Tyla, a rising star, as her current favourite African musicians.

On the red carpet of the Time100 Next Gala in New York recently, the Oscar-nominated diva remarked.

“Who are your favourite African artists right now?” the interviewer inquired.

“My favourite African artists right now are Asake and Tyla,” Tems commented.

She was honoured at the 2023 Time100 Next event as one of the honorees. A next-generation voice was given to her.

Not just the “Essence” crooner from Nigeria made the Time100 Next list for 2023. Wemimo Abbey, the founder of a tech company, and co-founder Samir Goel of a health start-up, Cityblock Health, both made the list with their venture, Esusu.
