We’re proud of Atiku; he’s a leadership role model – PDP honours the former vice president at 77

On his 77th birthday, the Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP, praised Atiku Abubakar, their presidential contender for 2023.

According to PDP, Atiku is an excellent empathetic leader who has an unwavering love for Nigeria.

PDP spokesman Debo Ologunagba stated that Atiku’s track record of serving Nigerians makes the opposition party happy.

A statement from Ologunagba says, “Atiku Abubakar is a courageous statesman and forthright administrator who remains unwavering in his love and commitment towards Nigerians and the unity, stability and development of our dear nation. He is a quintessence of humility and a kind-hearted, humane, and people-focused leader.

“Our Party is still proud of Atiku Abubakar’s track record of service to our country, particularly when it comes to applying his skills and abilities as the Chairman of the National Economic Council during the 1999–2007 PDP administration led by Atiku and Obasanjo. Under this leadership, the country achieved unprecedented levels of productivity across all sectors and developed into one of the fastest-growing economies in the world.

His work in the National Economic Council is constantly acknowledged and appreciated for contributing to the administration’s accomplishments, which included the creation of the Nigerian Golden Years during the PDP’s tenure in office through significant economic possibilities, employment growth, and infrastructure development.

“All Nigerians, regardless of political affiliation, acknowledge Atiku Abubakar as the personification of our shared national identity and optimism for economic progress. This was evidenced by their resounding endorsement and substantial voting for him in the 2019 and 2023 presidential contests, whose mandates were regrettably twisted by manipulative and repressive elements.

“Atiku Abubakar embodies a leadership lesson.” Even with his commanding presence, he is nonetheless approachable, kind, and modest—especially to younger people. He keeps proving that putting other people’s needs ahead of one’s own is the fundamental component of leadership.

Instead of the suffering, the collapse of the Naira, and the overall retrogression that we see in the country today, our nation would have been on the path of economic growth, tremendous infrastructural development, and employment possibilities if his mandate hadn’t been subverted.
