Why female actors don’t beg for money- Daniel Effiong

Actor Daniel Etim Effiong of Nollywood has explained why female actors, unlike their male colleagues, do not solicit donations from the general public.

According to him, society is set up such that “men are quick to rise to women’s needs,” but when a man is faced with difficulties, he attempts to solve them on his own until he reaches a breaking point at which point he decides to ask for help from the government.

A man’s money is for his entire family, according to Effiong, whereas a woman’s money is mostly for herself.

Recently, the actor was highlighted on the Bahd And Boujee Podcast, which is co-hosted by reality personality Tolanibaj and actress Moet Abebe.

“Why are male actors the ones who come online to ask for crowdfunding?” questioned co-host Moet.

In response, Effiong said,

“Traditionally, women have been primarily the duty of men in the society in which we all live. Men are therefore quick to step up and meet a woman’s needs or find a solution whenever there is an issue with her.

In Nigeria, males are not supposed to discuss issues with women in their culture if the women’s problems are not being resolved by the men. This applies to all cultures. If you reverse it, then the opposite would be true—men need to address their problems when they arise.

In general, women won’t step forward to take on the role of problem solvers for men. Men need to take care of themselves. A man will tell the world, “Guys, I’ve reached my limit,” instead of turning to a woman when he reaches a point where he is unable to address his difficulties. Come help me, I can’t help myself.”
