Mr Ibu can no longer talk, undergoes another leg amputation surgery

The ill Nollywood actor John Okafor, also known as Mr Ibu, has had another leg amputated. The Actors Guild of Nigeria, or AGN, has announced this information and is pleading for prayers and support for the veteran.

In an interview with reporters, Dr. Emeka Rollas, the National President of the AGN, revealed this.

He noted that in addition to keeping an eye on Ibu’s situation, the group was also worried about the declining health of Amaechi Muonagor, another renowned actor.

Muonagor has spent more than two months in the Nnamdi Azikwe University Teaching Hospital in Nnewi, Anambra State.

He claims that the actor is a sorry example of himself and that his current health is appalling.

Ibu’s family announced last month that the actor had undergone multiple surgeries, but that one of his legs had to be amputated to preserve his life. They also mentioned that Ibu will shortly be traveling overseas for additional medical care.

The AGN president provided an update to Vanguard, saying, “About the two actors, we are resigning to fate.” Mr. Ibu has had another leg amputated and scarcely speaks anymore while I chat with you.

“When you meet Amaechi Muonagor right now, you will cry because he is paralyzed in both legs. Rollas urged all of the actor’s admirers and well-wishers to band together with other charitable Nigerians to help him through this difficult period.

He added, admitting it was insufficient, that he had authorized N250,000 to be transferred from the AGN Trust Fund to the sick actor’s account.

However, Rollas urged aspiring performers to make an effort to enroll in the AGN Insurance and HMO schemes.
