“Iyanya became acquainted with Lagos because of me, and I hosted him for years.” – Kcee

Popular singer, Kingsley Okonkwo, aka Kcee, has revealed that he brought his colleague, Iyanya to Lagos and accommodated him for six years.

He also disclosed that he discovered Skibii’s talent and brought him to the spotlight.

Kcee said he doesn’t like to blow his trumpet despite supporting several of his colleagues in the music industry.

Kcee mentioned the following in a recent Afrobeats Podcast episode: “I took Iyanya to Lagos, and I bought his first plane ticket. He lived with me in Lagos for six years. I don’t discuss it.

“I introduced Skibii to the music business as well. Skibii still feels appreciative of me for that. Skibii was with me in the studio as I recorded “Ojapiano.” He wrote the song with someone else. We always get to see each other. We continue to resemble a father and son.

“I immediately thought, ‘I love this guy,'” said Skibii. I will collaborate with him. I always tell him, “Look into my eyes, you’re gonna blow,” even when he wasn’t popping. You are a star, I don’t know how or when it will happen. Thus, that boosted his confidence.

“I am that person who can recognize talent. I know when I see it. Additionally, I would back.

Iyanya wrote on X in response to a widely shared video of the interview, saying, “Yes, he [Kcee] did [accommodate me], and I’m forever grateful.”
