Timaya bemoans 66th annual Grammy awards

Popular singer Timaya, whose real name is Inetimi Alfred Timaya Odon, has lamented Nigerian musicians’ dismal performance at the 66th Grammy Awards.

According to Wakenews Nigeria, Tyla, the lone non-Nigerian contender in the first Best African Music Performance category, won the Grammy on Sunday, beating out the Nigerian quintet of Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, Davido, Asake, and Olamide.

In addition, Burna Boy and Davido were eliminated from consideration for Best Global Music Performance and Best Global Music Album.

Timaya posted on his X account, expressing his disgust, saying, “This Grammys no sweet oo!”
