Nnamdi kanu will appear in court in a few days for terrorism charges

The trial of the leader of the indigenous people of Biafra Nnamdi Kanu is set to begin by the Federal Government of Nigeria and will take place on the 26th of February.

This decision comes after the Supreme Court’s ruling on December 15, 2023, which made it possible for Kanu’s trial to proceed on the remaining seven counts that were brought against him including terrorism.

A notice signaling the commencement of the court case points to the fact that the proceedings would begin before Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Mike Ozekhome, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), and the office of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice (AGF), Kanu’s lead counsel, has been informed.

To ensure Nnamdi Kanu’s presence in court on the designated date, the Director General of the State Services (DSS) has been contacted.

Nnamdi Kanu has been in the custody of the DSS since he was arrested on June 19 2021 when he was caught in Kenya and brought back to Nigeria by the Federal authorities.
