The President is not the reason for Nigeria’s current problem- Ambode

Previous Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has openly defended President Bola Tinubu, declaring that Tinubu isn’t the cause of the current hardships in Nigeria.

Ambode made the comments amid Chapter Eight of Akinjide Adeosun Foundation’s 2024 Leadership Colloquium and Award, where he talked about the topic, “Economic Asphyxiation – The Wisdom of Authentic Leaders.”

Ambode contended that Nigeria’s issues have profound verifiable roots, dating back to the slave exchange era, and require a gallant pioneer like President Tinubu to address them comprehensively.

He urged Nigerians to stop blaming the President and told them to give him their support instead.

The Ex-Governor of Lagos state insisted on the importance of executive changes and balance, calling for a more fortified front in addressing the situation of the country.

Ambode proposed that Nigeria’s issues might be followed to the divide-and-extract strategy utilized amid the slave exchange, contributing to the current state of the nation.

He made everyone realise the major importance of leaders who exhibit confidence for a better future and he urged everyone to have a positive change in their hearts to contribute to the advancement of the Nation.

“Until we decide ourselves to say that we should unite for the common cause called Nigeria, the security issues will not go. We are all in a position to actually support Mr. President. Let us start to look at it from a different prism.

“We don’t have to wake up in the morning and be talking ill of Nigeria. We get what we profess about Nigeria.

“We must think out of the box. We have to feed ourselves. When we start to think by ourselves, and we resolve the issues concerning Nigeria, we will smile,” he added.
