I learnt to speak Yoruba from YouTube- Teniola reveals

Teniola Apata, also known as Teni, is a well-known musician who has disclosed that she learned the Yoruba language via YouTube.

The singer, 31, claimed that even though her parents are Yoruba, she picked up the language while living in America by watching YouTube Yoruba films.

In a recent episode of the Zero Conditions podcast, she revealed this.

“Do you know how I learned to speak Yoruba?” she said. That was the time I visited America. I discovered it on YouTube. I was binge-watching Yoruba movies

Teni further said in the interview that she began consuming alcohol in 2021. She claimed that up until then, she didn’t smoke or consume alcohol.

The singer went on to say that she started consuming alcohol merely “for fun.”
