Rivers crisis: Following his meeting with Tinubu and Wike, Fubara speaks out

Amid the protracted standoff with Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has stated that she is willing to consider a peaceful resolution.

Remember that on Monday, in an attempt to resolve the state’s political impasse, the governor and other relevant parties signed an eight-point accord in Abuja.

Following a meeting at the State House with President Bola Tinubu, Wike, Fubara, and other stakeholders, an agreement was achieved.

Speaking on Tuesday at the PAMO University of Medical Sciences 3rd Convocation and 6th Founders Day ceremonies in Iriebe Town, Fubara discussed the eight-point resolutions that the stakeholders had made in an attempt to put an end to the conflict between the two. He stated that he was willing to pay the price for peace.

To promote development, the governor reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining harmony within the state and among its citizens.

Speaking on Tuesday at the 3rd Convocation and 6th Founders Day ceremonies held by the PAMO University of Medical Sciences in Iriebe Town, Fubara talked about the eight resolutions that the stakeholders had come to end the conflict between the two. He declared that he would be prepared to pay the price for harmony.

The governor reiterated his commitment to preserving peace between the people and the state to foster growth.

Additionally, Governor Fubara gave the people of the state assurances that his government would guarantee access to high-quality healthcare and education in the state.

“Although there has been some progress, it is clear that much work remains to be done to realize our shared goals of providing all of our citizens with high-quality healthcare and education,” the speaker stated.

“I don’t need to say that without educated and healthy individuals, society cannot advance.”
