Orthodox church cancels Rema’s concert, calls him a devil worshipper

The administration of the Sheraton Hotel in Addis Ababa has apparently been under pressure from the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church to postpone Divine Ikubor, alias Rema’s concert which was supposed to take place yesterday 9th September 2023.

During an interview with Nigerian media personality Daddy Freeze, an Ethiopian woman revealed this.

The artist was allegedly accused of being a “devil worshipper” over his custom jewelry by the nation’s “powerful” Orthodox Church leaders, who prompted the hotel management to cancel the event, according to the woman.

Rema donned a unique necklace with an inverted cross and an image of a burning church on the concert’s banner.

“They issued a statement, similar to a press release in Ethiopia about Rema,” she remarked. Yes, as you can probably guess, it’s a major thing.

“They’re basically suggesting that because of what he has on his neck, he is worshipping the devil. And to be completely honest, I never gave it any thought. To be honest, there is more to it.

In the meantime, a woman was seen vandalizing Rema’s Addis Abeba concert poster in a viral video.
