Group asks Tinubu to keep Buhari’s greatest advisors in the government

President Bola Tinubu has been asked by the Foundation for African Development (FAD) to keep some of the greatest government officials from former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration since they are significant resources.

The County Director for FAD, Mr. Stanley Odili, stated this in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja.
Odii praised the re-appointment of Mr. Samuel Ogboku as Director-General of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

He encouraged Tinubu to extend the same courtesy to other Buhari appointees with solid and credible public service histories.

The present unity between the followers of Tinubu’s administration and that of Buhari would be strengthened by this. Tinubu’s interest in achievements is demonstrated by his reappointment of the NDDC Director-General, Samuel Ogboku, and his management group.

“Tinubu should resist the pressure from some impatient job-seekers to oust some of Buhari’s nominees from their positions, even though their public service records are impeccable and believable.

“We want to remind Tinubu that some of Buhari’s appointees supported his election bid, and the best way to encourage them will not be to disgrace them out of the office, but rather to retain them,” Odii added.

He claimed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) family may become tense and divided if any of Buhari’s appointees were removed from office before the end of their terms.

“The use of technical reasons to remove appointees of the previous APC administration before the end of their tenures, especially when they have performed competently well, will create distrust among members of the party,” he warned.
