Governor Obaseki speaks up on successor

The next governorship election would be fair, equitable, and inclusive, according to Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki.

Obaseki declared that he has not chosen another candidate for the State’s 2024 governorship.

The Governor of Edo said, speaking to journalists on Friday in Benin, “It is not in my place to now determine, appoint, or anoint any successor, but all I know is that in the process of seeking my successor, there must be fairness, equity, and a sense of inclusion because our goal is to keep Edo as one.”

Obaseki also stated that his administration was concentrating on a successful conclusion.

He gave the assurance that his administration intended to complete all open projects prior to the governorship vote.

“For me, that is the one problem I can see that might prevent us from moving forward. The key for his administration, he continued, was to finish strong and strive to fulfill all of the promises he made to the people of Edo during the campaign.
